Course Memo

An introduction to the basic concepts of products liability law including the theories and scope of liability arising from the manufacture and distribution of defective products. Focus is placed on the concept of defectiveness and defenses based on plaintiff's conduct and limitations on the liability of manufacturers and sellers. The course will also consider mandatory safety standards by administrative agencies as mechanisms for improving product safety levels.
